The idea behind this project was to create a space in which the ancient Russian character is combined with northern aesthetics, and the spirit of a traditional chalet is manifested in warm textures and calm harmony.
The room has undergone a major transformation: the kitchen, dining and living areas now flow into one another without losing functionality. Two enlarged window openings fill the interior with light. Totem columns near the stairs added artistic expressiveness, and a large kitchen set with a peninsula became a place for both cooking and friendly conversations. A new logic of passages and a hidden under-staircase storage room made the layout more convenient and understandable.
The decoration maintains the atmosphere of the chalet: lining on the walls, decorative beams like wood, an updated old table, which now has a new sound. Natural textures and designer elements intertwine here, creating a lively, expressive environment. A special accent of the dining room is the lamp above the dining table, handmade from tulle and wool. Its soft feather-like forms are collected into a single light cloud, and in them one can discern the very northern motif that the designer included in the concept - not literal, but felt at the level of associations, like a familiar texture enveloping the space with warmth.
In the adjacent bathroom the mood plays with bright colors. Here, a rich scarlet shade lays on the walls, repeating the color of the totem columns in the main room and connecting the space with the overall color scheme of the house. Functional elements balance the catchy palette - a cabinet made of Lamarty laminated chipboard in the decor Graphite evens out the visual rhythm, adding structure and composure. Its calm dark shade accompanies the same graphic door. The lower section of the pencil case is occupied by a washing machine, the upper shelves are hidden behind the hinged facades.
All interior elements are combined into a single, thoughtful composition, in which every detail supports the overall plan. The updated space combines northern freshness with a sense of homely warmth, while remaining expressive and livable at the same time.
