A room divided by a wardrobe became the starting point for creating two distinct spaces for different life scenarios: on one side, a cozy, compact living room, and on the other — an intimate, secluded bedroom.

The updated interior palette is both complex and refined. Deep blue, wine, graphite, sandy beige, and soft gray tones come together to evoke a sense of balance and raw character.

Inspired by the tale of Narnia, the project’s author decided to divide the open space into functional zones. Two windows made it possible to implement a smart layout: one part was transformed into a bedroom, the other into a living area. The centerpiece became a wardrobe — not merely a divider, but an architectural feature and the conceptual axis around which the entire idea unfolds. It became both a portal into privacy and a key to harmoniously organizing the functions of the interior.

The wardrobe’s facades are made of SyPly birch plywood, tinted in a rich blue shade. This color is no coincidence — it recalls the depths of the sea and faraway journeys, becoming the emotional heart of the room. The plywood was specially treated to bring out the vividness of its natural texture. The flowing wood grain patterns, with their delicate swirls and veins, resemble ripples across calm water. On the reverse side, the facades are tinted in a darker tone. The wardrobe carcasses are crafted from Lamarty laminated particleboard in a matte-textured “Graphite” finish, perfectly paired with the blue surfaces and gray walls. The facades continue into pull-out drawers and soft-close hinged doors, providing practical storage while maintaining the visual integrity of the design. The wardrobe seamlessly transitions into a dressing table, adorned with a full-height mirror.

From the living room side, the story of the blue sea continues with wall panels that form the wardrobe’s reverse face. The living area features a workspace and a custom-designed sofa — soft, in a warm ginger tone, upholstered in boucle fabric. It warms the space and brings it to life with its cozy hue. The TV stand and work desk reference the deep wine color of the ceiling cornices. The ceiling itself, made of exposed concrete and adorned with moldings, adds a touch of modern chic and a hint of theatricality to the space.
