At the intersection of aesthetics and functionality, interiors are born that inspire you to live, create, and relax. This was precisely the task that designers Elena Andronova and Maria Petrova set for themselves when developing a project for a young creative couple. Within just 18 square meters, they were challenged to accommodate several aspects of daily life: a bedroom, living area, workspace, and even a music studio. At the heart of the concept lies the pursuit of multifunctionality without compromising comfort or expressiveness, where every detail contributes to a unified vision.
To achieve this, the space was divided into functional zones using a glass partition, curtains, and color zoning. A soft peach tone envelops the ceiling and walls of the living and office area in warmth, while the opposite part — the bedroom — features a light ceiling and calm olive walls. This color solution not only defines the subtle boundary between functions but also visually structures the room.
The bedroom zone is filled with enveloping, soothing elements. Rounded furniture shapes seem to muffle the noise of the outside world. The bed’s headboard gently curves along the wall, while suspended nightstands appear to float in mid-air. A tall wardrobe with MDF fronts painted in a matte, delicate flamingo-pink enamel becomes a key decorative accent. This element introduces a touch of understated classical elegance that resonates with the contemporary tone of the space. Overhead, a light, almost weightless chandelier adds to the softness, and curtains provide privacy from the rest of the room.
In contrast, the opposite zone offers a more structured yet still cozy area for work, music, and relaxation. Here, straight lines, graphic precision, and natural textures coexist in perfect balance. A custom-designed furniture unit spans two walls and serves multiple functions. The desk seamlessly flows into a small sofa. The entire furniture composition is crafted from Lamarty laminated chipboard in the expressive “Wotan Oak” decor. The warm wood grain softens the rigid lines, adding visual warmth. A raised platform beneath the sofa conceals drawers for storing everything essential — even a synthesizer. The long countertop runs the length of the wall, serving as a desk, display shelf, or stand for musical equipment. A side cabinet offers space for sheet music, while a tucked-away nightstand transforms an unused corner into functional storage. Above the table, translucent acrylic shelves hover like art objects, catching the light and color in ever-changing reflections.
Pillows of various shapes, textures, and hues, a tassel-trimmed throw blanket, and warm lighting from wall-mounted fixtures all come together to form a harmonious composition — the finishing touches that create a cozy and thoughtful multi-functional bedroom.
