The kitchen interior is the result of a delicate interplay between technology, human craftsmanship, and personal stories. Inspired by the lives of the owners—a creative and unconventional couple, an actress and an industrial climber—project designer Olga Petrova entrusted the first strokes of the kitchen’s new space to artificial intelligence. The brief intertwined their personalities, professions, and the distinctive features of their Stalin-era apartment with its high ceilings and restrained facade grandeur. The concepts generated became a launch point, and among them, one was chosen where the austerity of Empire style resonated in a minimalist and contemporary way. But the final expression of the interior was ultimately shaped by the hand of a professional—using the high-tech concept as a foundation, the designer developed the project into a unique story.
The interior was built on the harmony of clean lines and expressive details. A classical touch referencing the historic character of the home was the plaster molding—a massive ceiling cornice with a leafy pattern, complemented by a delicate trim and painted in the trendy “Mocha Mousse” shade. This deep, warm color extended to the ceiling, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The mood was further supported by "Black Pearl"-colored light fixtures and a graceful chandelier that appears to float in the air.
The functional heart of the space is the kitchen, with its body and fronts made of Lamarty laminated chipboard in the striking “Medea” decor, imitating natural veneer. Its authentic wood texture brings warmth and visual depth to the interior, while black edging and integrated aluminum profile handles emphasize the architectural precision of the cabinetry. Spacious cupboards, a convenient pantry cabinet, soft-close modules, and a discreetly hidden radiator—all elements are designed with maximum care for everyday comfort.
The centerpiece of the dining area is a corner sofa, its frame made from moisture-resistant SyPly birch plywood. The material proved ideal for creating a strong and durable furniture base, capable of withstanding daily use for years. Upholstered in soft velour, the sofa is not just a functional element, but also a focal point for cozy gatherings at home.
The kitchen’s final touches include an oak table on a solid base, cushioned chairs, a light green accent wall.
